First we needed to refresh the brand, crafting a new typographic treatment for the wordmark using a crisp, timeless serif. Next, we enlisted local artist Suzanne van Niekerk to illustrate our iceberg, riffing on the iconic ice giant that drifted into Ferryland in 2017. Iceberg beer is local through and through – ingredients, design and company.
We took great care to find a colour and process for the can that honoured that iconic bottle. The metallic finish means the can will shift and change in the light, never the same blue twice.
Although the bottle didn’t change, we applied the refreshed look to labels and boxes to keep the brand experience consistent. Spot varnish gives texture and sheen to bright white cartons, and metallic bottle labels ensure the artwork and colours stay true when those cold, cold bottles get opened and enjoyed.
