We love bees and they love wildflowers.

Ray created a logo to symbolize the union between the honey bee and the lupin — an iconic Newfoundland wildflower. These natural elements also speak to the NLBKA’s environmental responsibility, collaboration, and quality of products.

To create a strong presence, we shortened the official name to NL Bees for all consumer-facing applications. A secondary icon was created for packaging to help easily identify locally produced bee products (and spread the love).

The colour palette was heavily influenced by Newfoundland. The desaturated purple was inspired by the lupin, and also represents our cooler climate, while the deep yellow denotes the darker, amber colour of the exceptional honey produced here.
